In particular and without limit to the generality of the above:

Security of the Australian Heritage Week web site

The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities applies a range of security controls to protect its web site from unauthorised access. However, users should be aware that the World Wide Web is an insecure public network that gives rise to a potential risk that a user’s transactions are being viewed, intercepted or modified by third parties or that files which the user downloads may contain computer viruses, disabling codes, worms or other devices or defects.

The Commonwealth accepts no liability for any interference with or damage to a user’s computer system, software or data occurring in connection with or relating to this web site or its use. Users are encouraged to take appropriate and adequate precautions to ensure that whatever is selected from this site is free of viruses or other contamination that may interfere with or damage the user’s computer system, software or data.

You should report any suspicious or unauthorised activity relating to your use of this web site by contacting us. This will help us make our web sites as secure as we can.

Moderation

Events submitted for inclusion on the Australian Heritage week web site are subject to moderation by departmental staff before they are posted to the live site. The moderation process helps ensure that spam or events unsuitable for the site are not published. We aim to publish events as quickly as possible.

To help us do this, please make sure:

  • Your events are relevant or on-topic – your submission should be for a heritage themed event that the public can attend, and ideally should occur within Australian Heritage Week (14-22 April 2012)
  • Your event does not contain any inflammatory or obscene language
  • Your event is not misrepresentational – i.e. you are not impersonating anyone or posting someone’s personal information without their permission
  • You provide us with accurate contact details so we can contact you if we have any questions about your event. If we are unable to contact you, your event will not be listed on the web site.

Events are moderated during business hours, Monday to Friday. There is no moderation available over weekends or public holidays. The department reserves the right to disallow a submitted event that does not meet the above guidelines, or remove a listed event from the site at any time.

The department will contact you to inform you if your event has been disallowed (assuming you have provided contact details).

If you believe that we have made an error in moderation, please contact us at ausheritageweek@environment.gov.au
